new.gif (111 bytes) A God of Detail  Many a Bible reader, having begun with Genesis 1:1, has been turned aside from further study once they open the book of Leviticus. What they are missing!
new.gif (111 bytes) Bound by Law?  It's a recurring theme: must Christians obey God's Law?
new.gif (111 bytes) Burial or Cremation?  The end of life is a sad time for all those left behind. But - what should be done with our body?
new.gif (111 bytes) Deceived? Not Me!  In our world we ought by now to have become used to the idea that we could, indeed, have been deceived.
new.gif (111 bytes) Gospel Focus  This is the plan - and you can have a role! Will you take on the challenge?
new.gif (111 bytes) Is Heaven Your Destiny?  What happens when Christians die? Is 'Heaven' their reward?
new.gif (111 bytes) Mind Your Language  'Free speech' (while it lasts!)...permits the proclamation of the Gospel - which increasingly offends the authorities. Recent legislation could lead, indeed has done, to prosecution for expressing Bible teachings.
new.gif (111 bytes) Parallel Times  History, it is claimed, repeats itself. But not always in the same way.
new.gif (111 bytes) The Enduring Faith  Resurrect Adam today and his eyes would pop at what is presented as the way he was taught by the Lord in Eden.
new.gif (111 bytes) The Kingdom... here and now  Just what is the 'Kingdom of God'? Is it here, now? Or, is it a future event?
new.gif (111 bytes) The Vengeful Psalms  The so-called 'imprecatory psalms' are deemed to show the contrast between the God of the Old Testament and the supposedly new vision by Jesus.
3 Days & 3 Nights In The Grave, Why?  Why was Jesus in the grave three days and three nights?
6,000 Years of Christianity  “True Christianity is about six thousand years old” Even if our school history is long forgotten, most of us would raise eyebrows at that statement! Yet it is, in a manner of speaking, quite true.
A Framework for Prophecy  Prophecy hold great fascination for many students of the Christian Scriptures. Any attempt to understand it is like assembling a complex jigsaw puzzle, and there are basic rules for success.
A Message for the World of Tomorrow  Most of us are weary of the frustrations, pains, sorrows we face. Yet the Bible insists there's a new world coming. It's a world of peace, health, beauty, justice. Here's a glimpse of today's world - and what you can expect in the world of tomorrow.
Antichrist - Who Is He?  The Apostle John cites 'many antichrists' in his day. It may be worth considering that the end-time may produce more than one such anti-Christian person.
After the Resurrection  What will you be like in the resurrection? Is Jesus Christ a pattern for our own resurrection? What the Bible teaches is breath-taking!
Are Christians 'free from the Law'?  "Free from the Law, Oh happy condition" goes the popular hymn. Really?
Are Some Foods Unfit to Eat?  Are the Old Testament dietary laws out-dated? Should Christians eat pork and shell-fish? Is it Sin? Here's what God's Word has to say.
Are You a 'Philadelphian' Christian?  Some church administrations promote the notion that the 'Seven churches of Revelation' (chapters 2-3) represent specific 'eras' of church history.
Babylon - Fountain of Error  A great lie undergirds all the world's major religions. It could just ensnare you into idolatry - and death
Battle for Sovereignty ...can Britain Survive?  Most political parties lay claim to be a 'one nation party', while radical groups see to demolish borders between nations. Do the Christian Scriptures have a say?
Before Jesus Comes  Millions of Christians believe we now live in “the last times”. Within very few years Jesus Christ will return to save the planet. One writer states: “Church leaders...are uniting to release unity in the body of Christ to prepare for Jesus’ return”. The view is firmly held by those who teach about the “end time”.
Born With A Purpose  Why were you Born? It's a question many ask, sometimes in despair. Yet every human life has a purpose that transcends all life's challenges
But Is It Christianity?  There are some two billion Christians and two thousand varieties of Christianity. Is your belief authentic?
Can You Believe the Bible?  The message and character of Jesus Christ would fail all the tests of humanitarian practice - if he were taken literally!
CGOM In Perspective  When our habitual life patterns change - whether imposed or self-imposed - it can take years to adjust.
For those of us in the Churches of God Outreach Ministries, those changes began some six years ago. Since then we have ‘evolved’ - and matured. It may be helpful - and encouraging - for us to review our current position in the Church of God world. What makes us different? What challenges face us?
  CGOM Statement of Beliefs
CGOM Statement of Purpose The Churches of God Outreach Ministries (CGOM) is a voluntary association of independent local assemblies. CGOM is not a ‘denomination’, not ‘a church’ - there is no central human authority. We believe this is the Biblical structure for the whole church of God.
Children...the best job!  Parental care for our children is the safeguard of our future.
Christian Rewards...Why?  Jesus says "...great is your reward in heaven..." (Matt 5:12) Why? Is God interested in rewarding Christians?
Christ Wants "Doers"!  Christ wants each of us to be highly successful in our Christian walk.
Church Governance  The Christian centuries have spawned a multitude of forms of "governance". Generally, described as congregational, Presbyterian and hierarchical forms - divided by degrees of independence and centralization. And we see all in action today, even within the Churches of God of our own tradition. They all are in some degree effective. However, it’s pertinent to ask, Is there a format handed on by the primitive church?
Church Leadership  A Biblical Perspective - Over two millennia a distorted understanding of church leadership has evolved. What does the Bible teach?
Come to Me and Drink  Jesus (the Word), the Creator of the universe, says that He has some "living water" for us to drink. What is this water? How does it tie in with the plan of salvation?
Coming to Baptism  When we reach the point of baptism each of us has faced a variety of life experiences. Some have a “record”. Others have been “religious since mother’s knee”. Some were christened, or baptized as an adult. Some have never had any religious training or experience. Some have been associated with other churches And others have never darkened a church door. You then come to believe that change is needed. What do you do?
Coming To Unity  Jesus urged unity on his disciples. How can we fulfill his prayer?
Dealing with the 'S' Word  The "s" word (sin) doesn't appear too often in the newspapers, nor does it feature much on radio or TV - yet the media are full of it! Indeed very little human behavior would today be classified in the media or by psychologists - even in church - as "s..."!
Delight in the Sabbath  The weekly Sabbath is for Christians a day in which to delight in God’s presence
Divorce...is it for Christians?  Many Christians reject divorce outright. Marriage, they say is for life, and can't be sundered. Divorce is Sin. What does the Bible say?
Do You Just Pay & Pray?  What does Jesus Christ expect from you as a Christian? Do you have a role of any significance within the Church? Is there more to your life in Christ than “pay and pray”?
Do You Want Safety?  YES!, is the answer if you are like most of the people of this planet. Some earnestly desire and yearn for a PLACE OF SAFETY which by itself may place them in great danger.
Does God Have a Plan for All of Mankind?  Do you believe in God? If you do, do you believe in creation by God and not in evolution? Do you believe that "human beings" are the most important creation of God’s Creation? Do you accept the Holy Scriptures as the inspired word of God?
Evangelism  What do you think are the greatest hindrances to the growth of the Church? There may be a dozen, but a major one is - me and you! For many of us have absorbed the notion that the task of turning a person to God rests with a disembodied voice on radio, or a moving image on TV or an anonymous booklet.
Fellowship on the Sabbath  One of the greatest blessings God has given mankind is His holy Sabbath day. Every seventh day has been set apart, sanctified and made Holy from creation (Genesis 2:2-3). This is a special time reserved each week by God for man’s spiritual and physical welfare.
First There Was Nothing...  "The world began without any beginning". So imply some evolutionists. How come?
GOD - Father and Son  The ancestry of Jesus Christ has caused confusion. Who was he?
God Has Feelings Too  Have you ever stopped to consider what God thinks about us, the choices we make and the lives we live? Is God a loving parent or a remote, uncaring Creator hidden by the vastness of space?
God Is One  Does 'monotheism' mean that God is a solitary being?
God's Academy  Sport academies abound. Tennis, football, athletics, swimming -- all have their special training schools. So, too, does God!
God's Firstfruits Harvest  Many Christians celebrate ‘Pentecost’. Here’s the little-known origin of the celebration.
God's Grand Design  Is human life merely a fortunate evolutionary accident? Is our future in the hands of blind chance? Or, is there a purpose to human life? Here's the remarkable evidence of a spectacular planned destiny for mankind.
God's Purpose for Elders  How do you feel about ministers (elders) in the church?
Great Hope In Christ  In the near future, multitudes of truth-believers are going to rise up out of their graves to meet Christ in the air (1 Thes 4:17)
Growing In Knowledge  Are you growing in knowledge? Can you "grow out" of the true knowledge of Jesus Christ and His plan for mankind?
Guidelines For Your Baptism  Here's an outline of the practical aspects of being baptized.
Heaven's Heart  Do you love God's word? Don't you think it is sad that we don't have more opportunities to share great discoveries about God's heart with many others?
Helping Them Grow  One of our greatest joys in the "true believer" lifestyle should be the thrill of helping others come to a knowledge of the precious truths of God.
How Is Jesus Lord?  Some feel that we should not use the term "Lord" when referring to Jesus Christ or God, the Father. Should we be afraid of using this term because others (who knew not the God of all creation) misused it?
How To Run A Bible Study  Have you ever thought about having Bible Studies in your own local Church? It is not difficult for virtually anyone who has been with the Church of God for a reasonable time to lead a Bible Study. It may take a fair amount of preparation, but the benefits for all those who participate are well worth it.
I'm A Minister...  The concept of 'ministry' is much misunderstood in the modern church of God
In The Name of God  Confusion sometimes arises among Christians as to how we ought to address God.
Indeed some feel it is imperative that we use the Hebrew form of the name, almost a matter of our salvation being at stake. Should we always use the Hebrew names? Or ought Christians to simply call God “Father”?
Is Hell Real?  It’s the butt of music hall jokes. Every day we send millions there (“go to...”). The devil, it is said, presides over hell. And, said an editorial in Independent on Sunday - the source of our title: “...it was paved over as a fact and buried as a question early this century”. Further, Britain’s former Secretary of State for Education said we need to revive it - presumably to scare school bullies and other thugs into more peaceful ways!
Is Jesus God?  The Christian Church has since its inception been rocked by controversy about the nature of Jesus Christ. Was Jesus God? Was he human? What is he now?
Jesus Is Coming  Jesus promised to return to our planet. What's the point?
Journey to the Kingdom  Conversion? What does that mean? Are you on the right track?
Laying On of Hands  An outline of how and why we use the Laying On of Hands.
Living With Uncertainty  Our world is fraught with uncertainty. Whether health, family affairs, finances, work - none offer us the solid foundation of certainty. How can we thrive in an uncertain world?
Make the Most of God's Spirit  You cannot be a Christian without having the holy Spirit.
It's precious. So how does it help us?
Make Your Calling and Election Sure  "Therefore my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure." (2 Peter 1:10)
Marriage - Just A Piece of Paper?  For Christians, marriage transcends the mere physical and material. It has spiritual implications that extend beyond this life into the world to come. But what about the rest of mankind? Is marriage ' just a piece of paper'?
Nations In Decline  Nations rise and fall - often the effect of prolonged moral decline. Will our Western civilization follow?
Natural Consequences  'It's the end of the world'. ' God is wreaking His punishment on sinning mankind'.
'Where was God'? 'What was He thinking?' 'Be warned!' True?

Religious Holidays or God's Holy Days?  Does it matter to God?... In the Bible, God has designated His Holy days, how come we don’t observe them?
Restoring God's Government  Is the Church of God modeled on the Levitical Priesthood? On secular government? Or some other form?
Satan's Lies  Everyone on the planet is hearing Satan's lies. These lies are everywhere. Some are blatant and many are very subtle.
Should A Christian Tithe?  A common cause of concern among Christians is the matter of the "tithe". The question is usually along the lines of Must a Christian give one-tenth (i.e. tithe) of income to the church?
Should You Be Baptized?  Across most Christian denominations baptism is seen as the “admission ticket” to the faith. Is it free? Or is there a price attached?
Spend A Lifetime - Together  Even Christian marriages are increasingly torn by divorce. Is there a formula which will encourage your marriage to last?
Suffering...is there a better way?  Much of our suffering is self-inflicted, yet we wonder why man suffers...
Tabernacles...humanity in the flesh  The Festival of Tabernacles is an age-old divinely inspired festival that has relevance to all mankind throughout history
That "Tongues" Question  Is "speaking in tongues" a true Pentecostal experience?
The Blessing of Tithing  Perhaps you believe you cannot afford to tithe. However, you may not realize that by not tithing you are turning away a blessing from God.
The Christian and the Spirit  How does God’s Spirit interact with the human mind? Let’s unravel a puzzling mystery.
The Day To Remember  We all have them. Those special days that live in memory - good ones, painful ones; all significant
The Easter Story  Remember me, said Jesus. How? Is there an alternative to Easter?
The Edge of Divorce  All too many marriages in our Western society are crumbling. Whatever this portends for national stability, it's clear that it means heartaches for thousands of couples - and their extended families. It means distress for uncounted children. What begins as an exciting dream too often ends in heartbreak.
The Empty Tomb... was it a hoax?  The fact was undisputed - even to the Jewish authorities: The tomb was empty.
The body of Jesus had disappeared!
The Faith Once Delivered  The Bible exhorts Christians to "contend for the faith once delivered to the saints". What was that faith? When was it delivered? Who delivered it?
The Family of God  There's a diversity of views about the nature of God in the various world faiths. How can He best be understood?
The Feast of the Nativity  An intensely spiritual observance? A secular holiday? A pagan festival? Here's some light on the origins of Christmas
The Fountain of Life  Youth seems all too fleeting and strength fades fast but there is a source of living waters welling up to eternal life. A source of water that will refresh us now, and revive us in the life to come.
The King's Speech  Jesus Christ is planning a takeover of all human governments. How will He rule?
The Knowledge that Counts  Is it possible to know the Bible inside out - and still miss the point of it? Has the Church of God complete knowledge of the truth? How important is "doctrine" to the Christian life?
The Law of Life  A living stream connects all eras of human existence. There’s a hidden continuity that makes history make sense
The Long Sleep  It’s ‘the cure for all diseases’. So why fear it?
The Makings of an Apostle  It's time to look at what the New Testament tells us about 'apostleship'

The Resurrection of Jesus... just a sham?  The greatest hoax ever? Or, the certain evidence of a Creator God?
The Resurrection Sequence  Whatever the true sequence of events at the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the most important factor is that he did die and rise again, making possible the gift of eternal life for all of mankind.
The Role of the Local Church in Outreach  A major function of the local assembly is a corporate outreach with Christ's Gospel. Our mission is "to all the world" and not merely to achieve personal salvation!
The Sabbath - A Prophecy of Eternal Life
The Small Church  the New Testament example - How we perceive "the church" can shape our approach to both aspects of our commission as Christians. As the people of God we are to become nourished spiritually (to grow in grace) - and to disciple everyone. How can this best be achieved?
The 'Terrible Ten'  are the Ten Commandments 'religious'? Activists in the U.S.A. continue to lobby for an end to the public display of the Ten Commandments. They offended the civil rights of atheists! But why so much opposition to this body of law? Is it indeed 'religious'?
The Time of the Signs  If we are living in the end-time of man's occupation and misrule of planet earth, what would you expect to "signs of the times" to be? And can you do anything about it?

The Unpardonable Sin  Over the years there are those who question as to whether or not they have committed the unpardonable sin.
Trumpets...the years ahead  The Biblical holy days depict the divine plan. The Day of Trumpets, in the autumn, is a pen-portrait of the end-time.
Trust Me - I'm God  'Increase our faith' requested the disciples of Jesus. How?
Trusting God  One of the greatest lessons that we can learn in life is to place our complete trust in God and not lean to our own understanding.
Trusting in Lying Words  There is a strange saying that the Jews had, but God called lying words. It is found in Jeremiah 7:4, 8 and says, "Do not trust in these lying words, saying, 'The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are these'. Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit."

What Do You Do When You Are Ill?  God's people are subject to illness just like the rest of mankind. So what should you do if you become ill?
What Do You Expect From God? All too many Christians have a distorted understanding of what they can expect from God. How much of His direct intervention can we count on in our daily life?
What Do You Mean Repent?  Questions like this often reach our letter-box! The implication is that any Church teaching such doctrines is preaching a gospel of works. Indeed the least whiff of a preacher declaring the need for "works" draws a fire of many Protestants. But is there any place for works? Are they an essential part of salvation? Indeed, what are they? Why did Jesus say He would reward our works? Do they connect with the Bible concept of "repentance"?

Who Is On the Lord's Side?  Jesus tells us that 'few' will find the narrow entrance to eternal life. How come there are two billion Christians?
Who, then, can be saved?  Relatively few in our world are willing to give their all to the way pioneered by Jesus Christ. Why?
  Why Does Mankind Suffer?
Why Is America the Target of TERRORISTS?  Why has the United States been the recipient of so much terror and pain in not only the attack on the World Trade Center, but also others in the past few years?
